The Tour of Auvergne tour (5 days)

The Tour of Auvergne is our most comprehensive motorcycle tour. Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Haute-Loire, Cantal... This trip is an opportunity to discover (almost) the whole of Auvergne. Are you ready for this great adventure?

Day 1 - 260 km, from Allier to Mont-Dore...

Departing from Charroux, ranked among France's most beautiful villages, we will follow the Sioule River from its gorges to the Queuille meander and all the way to the Fades' lake, then visit the Buddhist temple of Biollet. We will then climb into the Massif du Sancy to arrive in the evening at Lac du Guéry, after contemplating the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks, Lac Chambon, and the Château de Murol.

Day 2 - 205 km, discovering the Cantal.
Le Puy Mary, a “Grand Site de France,” will be our morning destination. We will then stop for a break at the Auberge de Mandailles before heading off to explore Salers and Aurillac (a visit to the Mad Cows motorcycle designers is on the agenda) and ending up in Tournemire, not far from the Château d'Anjony, for an evening of relaxation.

Day 3 - 195 km, heading for the Haute-Loire.
Departing from Tournemire, we will head to Saint-Flour for a short break, then on to the Haute-Loire and Langeac with its winding roads for a traditional lunch. Next, we will head to Saugues, home of the Beast of Gévaudan, where we will visit its museum... Dinner and evening accordint to your wishes in Le Puy-en-Velay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site...

Day 4 - 240 km, from Haute-Loire to Puy-de-Dôme...

In the morning, we will head to Saint Maurice de Lignon and its Himalayan footbridge 78 meters above the ground, then on to Aurec-sur-Loire, an astonishing village with its digital castle, trompe-l'oeil paintings, and monumental street art where we will have lunch. Then we will reach La Chaise-Dieu to discover its thousand-year-old abbey and its tapestries classified as “national treasures.” At the end of the afternoon, we will travel to Ambert and then Thiers via the Monts du Forez.

Day 5 - 70 km, Haute-Loire, Puy-de-Dôme and back home! 

Our last morning will be spent discovering the art of cutlery making in Thiers, doing some shopping in the town, before heading to Vichy via the mysterious Sichon Gorges. We will have a farewell lunch on the banks of the Allier River and then return to our homes, our heads filled with memories and magic! You can also extend the pleasure by visiting the Vichy thermal baths or discovering the “Belle Époque” city of Napoleon III, marked by Art Deco, but that's none of our business ;-)

NB: Our routes are to be completed with your own vehicle, insured and well maintained, and under your sole responsibility. Should you need to rent a motorcycle, we can also manage this!
